13-year-old Masaki was murdered in his small rural hometown. His body was discovered under a bridge in the center of the town. The town was overcome with fear and anxiety after his murder. Haru, Akira, and Saku were classmates with Masaki. The three boys suspected an old man named On-san as the murderer. Masaki often visited and played with On-san. The three boys went to On-san's home, and a physical struggle ensued.
